BASF has launched a new carrot variety under the Nunhems brand. The Percyst variety features intermediate resistance to southern root-knot nematodes, a trait designed to help growers reduce reliance on chemical fumigation.
Beyond resistance, Percyst carrots are described as delivering excellent flavor, color, texture, shape, quality and foliage. The variety also offers dual-purpose versatility for fresh market cellos and processing into baby carrots.
Seed will be available this planting season.
